    VALENTINE’S DAY RALLY

    Taylor Square will be the focal point this Valentine’s Day (Sunday, February 14) of a rally to demand same-sex marriage rights. The event, which is part of the National Year of Action (NYA) for Same-Sex Marriage, will be held in the square from 12pm, and will include a ‘kiss-in’ and a blessing of same-sex couples by Metropolitan Community Church (MCC) Crave pastor Karl Hand.     BLACKTOWN OUTDOORS GROUP

    The Blacktown Outdoors Group will be holding their next event on Saturday, February 20 in Sydney’s Northern Beaches. Attendees will have a bushwalk and BBQ at Palm Beach, as well as a walk up Barrenjoey Lighthouse. Grade is easy/medium.     CAAH AT MARDI GRAS

    Lobby group Community Action Against Homophobia will be marching in the Mardi Gras Parade with a giant rainbow flag. The group will be calling for equal marriage rights and are seeking participants to join them. To register, go caah.org.au.

    ACON SEEKS IDEAS

    In 2010, ACON will be celebrating its 25th anniversary. ACON is planning a series of events and activities marking the occasion throughout 2010, but they are also seeking ideas from the community about how such a significant milestone can be commemorated. Ideas can be submitted at www.acon.org.au/25 and will be accepted throughout 2010.

    WRITING THEMSELVES IN

    Young same-sex attracted people aged 14-21 are encouraged to take part in the third national survey, ‘Writing Themselves In’. Available online, the survey will be used to gather information on the sexuality, health and wellbeing of young same-sex attracted Australians. It is being undertaken by Dr Lynne Hillier from the Australian Research Centre in Sex, Health and Society from La Trobe University. Go to www.wti3.org.au.
